It's a balancing act I avoid as it is tough enough to balance everything else in the game. They create too much traffic and seem to cause more problems than they solve, unless you can strategically balance them out. I do not use transportation options in the game either. trains carries 300+ citizens per day while buses is 100+

i do not know if citizens uses it or not, mainly buses. Regarding transportation, i usually never use them properly in any city building game, so it is my first time building it.

so make sure your green residential districts are free of pollution. Pollution is only fatal to residential areas. You are poisoning them with pollution (ground, water, or noise). Why my citizens kept saying they are sick when i build 3 hospitals right next to their buildingsĬims don't get sick, as there is no sickness mechanic in the game. If you place residential within 1km of jobs, they will walk to work and prevent worker vehicles from spawning. Make sure to almost eliminate freight exporting. build commerce and industry on the highway and next to each other for quick deliveries. How do i improve my traffic, currently sitting at 45% average, mainly my avenues are having the congestionīuild with purpose. Why my commercial districts/zone or buildings kept showing up 'Not enough goods' when i have a whole industry set up a few meters from the shops I have a couple of problems while playing which i need help with. if people have more fun playing with them, I'm not about to tell them to have less fun. No judgement on anyone who does use mods.

I personally am happy to use the pre-built junctions, because i 'could' build them myself, but would rather not use mods to make the game easier.

Plenty of videos out there for more details.Ī lot of people heavily mod this game, so a lot of their advice will be to install particular mods to get more options to control traffic, but it's not required to fix most issues, though it can make it a lot easier. There are some good pre-built junctions in the workshop (get ones that say they don't need any mods, unless you also want to start playing with mods), or as a generally good idea, use two lane one way roads to make a raised roundabout, and then use more 2 lane one way roads to make on/off ramps. If your main on/off ramp from the highway is heavily congested, you probably need to re-build it. One important trick is to go into the route overlay (two blue street sign like arrows pointing different directions), then go to 'junctions' and turn off traffic lights pretty much everywhere, instead put a stop side on the minor road side, and keep the main road clear to go through. Look at the traffic overlay (the 3 cars, but I assume you've already found it since you said you have 45%), find the area's that are red, and do things like add extra lanes, or alternative paths to where you want to go. At 45% average, chances are ALL of your problems are due to congestion.
